I'm a philosopher researching issues in civic communication and citizenship ethics. I completed my Ph.D. in 2026 at the University of Virginia's Corcoran Department of Philosophy.  

 

My work is animated by two interrelated questions. First, what are the desirable forms of civic discourse? Second, how might our existing communicative practices and institutions be improved upon order to bring these forms of discourse about? Accordingly, my research draws on methods and themes from social and political philosophy, ethics, and epistemology (with a sprinkling of social metaphysics and philosophy of language as needed). I like to refer to this hodgepodge as the philosophy of communication.​
